Limitations

Because network filesystems and the local filesystem differ in some implementation details, and the file features they support cannot be mapped one-to-one, this tool has some limitations in data synchronization:

1. For directory synchronization, only the synchronization of directory names can be guaranteed. Support for directory attributes and other advanced features cannot be guaranteed.
2. For file synchronization, only the synchronization of file contents can be guaranteed. Support for file attributes and other advanced features cannot be guaranteed.
3. What is guaranteed: local and remote file names and contents are consistent.
4. Different network protocols have different features and may additionally support synchronizing some attributes, but there is no unified conclusion; this depends on the specific program version and protocol implementation.

The file attributes and advanced features mentioned here apply to local filesystem file attributes as well as remote filesystem file attributes.

When a local file is uploaded to the remote, local file attributes cannot be synchronized and stored in the remote filesystem.

When a remote file is downloaded to the local, attributes supported by the remote filesystem cannot be synchronized and downloaded to the local filesystem.

Including but not limited to:

• local or remote file modification time
• local or remote file attributes: for example, symbol link, ReadOnly, System.
